KVK Mandates

1. Conducting “on-farm testing” for identifying technologies in terms of location specific sustainable land use system.
2. Organize training to update the extension personnel with emerging advances in agricultural research on regular basis.
3. Organize short and long-term vocational training courses in agriculture and allied vocations for the farmers and rural youths with emphasis on “learning by doing” for higher production on farms and generating self employment.
4. Organize frontline demonstrations on various crops to generate production data and feedback information.

History

KVK Lower Subansiri was established in the year 2005 under the Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Naharlagun with financial assistance from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) with its site located at Jaath Hapa (Yachuli), presently with its temporary office(rented) at Hapoli with 16(sixteen) office staff.

How to reach our KVK

KVK Lower Subansiri is located at a place named Jaathhapa, Yachuli, 27 kms from the District Headquarter Ziro and 73 kms from state capita Itanagar. The only means of conveyance to the reach the Kendra is through road ways. Local public transport facilities can be availed from the Guwahati, North Lakimpur (state Assam) and the state capital Itanagar. The nearest railway station at Naharlagun, Harmutty, Tezpur and Guwahati(Assam). The KVK can also be reached by Air by availing Helicopter services. The nearest Helicopter service is at Advance Landing Ground, Ziro which is 27 kms from KVK. For the daily flights, the nearest airport is at Guwahati.
